Khol drum with colorful fiberglass body and two different sized leather heads, one produces a low pitch and the other a high pitch. A small hole is purposely punched in the bass head for a better sound.
The exceptionally colorful fiberglass body, on this two-headed drum, makes it much lighter than the traditional clay bodied Khol. Both heads are held in place and tuned by strap tension. It is held horizontally, allowing both heads to be played simultaneously.
The Khol is a popular rhythm instrument for East Indian devotional and folk music. The leather heads are in two sizes allowing for both high & low pitched timbres in this one exciting drum.
