This Deluxe Yoga Harmonium, weighing only 16 lbs., is a great portable instrument. The integrated multi-fold bellows provides outstanding airflow resulting in substantial sound volume and can be opened for left or right handed playing. The 29 keys cover a range from F2 to A4. The reeds in the harmonium are tuned to 440 +/- 3 cents prior to shipping. There are 2 stops that control air flow to two reed banks.
As clearly illustrated in the photos, it is a suit-case style instrument, so the top of the case is removed and the keyboard pops up for playing. For storage or travel, the keyboard can be easily placed in locked-down position, then the cover is folded over the top and locked in place making for a very compact and easy to transport instrument.
A Harmonium is a freestanding musical keyboard instrument similar to a Reed Organ or Pipe Organ. The sound is produced by air being blown through the free reeds by means of a hand-operated bellows, alternately depressed by the player, resulting in a tone similar to that of an accordion.
Harmoniums are mainly used as an accompaniment to devotional songs or in such applications as meditation and concentration in yoga studios. As with many Indian instruments, the key for the music is selected to best suit the vocals or to set a mood. Although it was invented in France nearly 200 years ago, the harmonium has been extremely popular and strongly embraced by India after it was brought there during the British Occupation.

Special Note on Finishes: The instrument's finish color and décor may vary from the photo. Some of the finishes are very impressionable, no pun intended. During the long journey from India, the finish may become marred with impressions by the packing materials. These impressions are superficial and cosmetic and do not affect the playability or sound quality, therefore we do not consider such impressions as blemishes or defects.
