Pair of ebony castanets with a natural finish. Two corded clam-shaped wooden clappers of ebony, played in the palm of the hand.
The ebony will produce a slightly louder and crisper sound than the rosewood; and the wood has not been stained, allowing the striking natural beauty of the light and dark tones to come through.
To play, hang them from your thumb so they rest in the palm of your hand, then drum your fingers on the shell. Each set has a (M) male and (F) female castanet.
Overall dimensions approximately 2 5/8 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches long (6.75 x 9 cm).
