This pair of ebony castanets consists of two corded clam-shaped wooden clappers of ebony, played in the palm of the hand.

To play, hang them from your thumb so they rest in the palm of your hand, then drum your fingers on the shell.

Each set has a (M) male and (F) female castanet.

Approximate overall dimensions are: 2 5/8 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches long (6.75 x 9 cm).
