No returns are accepted after 30 days.

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges both ways. Returns must be in new and unused condition. Items that are damaged during return will not be accepted for refund or exchange. Customers are encouraged to insure returns for their protection. Please retain the shipping carton and packing materials.

Besides offering periodic special promotions and sales, we are thrilled to offer our 20% discount on all orders...for everyone...all the time!

Also, Sound World Instruments is excited to be able to introduce our new "VERY IMPORTANT CUSTOMER" membership plan which is primarily geared towards those individuals and organizations expressing the purpose and goal of musical education and sharing. Sign up today, and begin receiving 30% discounts off of retail right away! This means you get our standard 20% discount AND you will qualify for the extra 10%, in addition!

Discount offers and coupons cannot, under normal circumstances, be combined. (Exceptions: Members of any organization, school, Church or club, and owners of music and gift stores may be eligible for additional quantity discounts on select items).

We strive to keep adequate stock of all our instruments and accessories. From time to time we may run out of an item do to high demand or some other unforeseen circumstance. If such a situation occurs, we will notify you of an expected date of shipment.

At the bottom of the instrument description page, you will always see "Items in Stock" followed by a number. If that number is "0" or negative, that means that the item is backordered. Please indicate in the "Special Instructions" field at checkout if you are willing to accept that this item be put on backorder for you.

This is very often a terrific idea, since it guarantees that you will be first on the list for what might be a limited quantity & it also guarantees that you will only pay the current pricing, thus avoiding any inevitable price increases.

If desired, you may cancel your pending order at any time by contacting one of our customer service folks by email (support@soundworldinstruments.com) or by calling Sound World Instruments (A Division of Salmagundi, Inc.) at 1-888-245-6885, and we will be happy to assist you.

Once your order is received, we typically ship the very next day, excluding weekends & holidays. We ship daily within the contiguous United States. The shippers we use are typically UPS and the US Postal Service. The integrated shipping calculator is provided by UPS and uses the destination zipcode, product weight and container dimensions to calculate the appropriate charges.

Exchanges for a different color or model are effectively a return of one item and a new order for a different item. Under these circumstances shipping charges will be applied to the exchange.

We are excited to be able to offer estimated International Shipping quotes via a simple email to support@soundworldinstruments.com including the following information:

  • Item SKU #'s and quantity.
  • Complete international shipping address & phone number.

International quotes cannot be provided automatically via the website. This simple email is the only method of providing estimated international shipping quotes. Final charges will vary, either up or down, typically by a nominal amount, due to multiple factors including fuel rate fluctuations, packaging changes (we may be able to combine items into a single box to reduce costs), time delays due to backorder status, insurance costs, etc.

Shipping Methods: We make every attempt to secure the lowest rate, reliable delivery method for our international customers. Therefore, shipments may be delivered by a variety of different carriers including, but not limited to USPS Priority Mail International, Global Priority Mail, Global Express Mail or other discount shipping services we have found to be competitive and reliable.

Shipping Rates: Shipping rates to international addresses can vary widely around the world. Our shipping fees include the charges levied by our vendors, insurance for the full merchandise value and a nominal handling fee.

Customs Fees or Duty: International customers are responsible for any customs fees, value added taxes (VAT) or duties charged by their country. You can contact your local customs office if you need an estimate.

Payment:
Payment is accepted via PayPal in USD by sending funds to the following account: salmagundi.inc@gmail.com. We cannot accept international credit cards, money grams or wire transfers.

Insurance: All international shipments are required to carry insurance for the full value of the contents. We do not guarantee delivery outside of the USA. The customer assumes all risk for loss or damage. The responsibility for financial recovery is strictly limited to interactions between the customer and the shipper/insurer.

All claims for damage or defects must be made within three (3) business days of receipt by calling Sound World Instruments (A Division of Salmagundi, Inc.) at 1-888-245-6885.

SPECIAL NOTE - No Warranty on Strings:
Whether you purchase an instrument on-line or in a neighborhood store, manufacturers recommend that you change the strings on your instrument as soon as you receive it. Your instrument may have endured a long journey to your home. During this time the strings will oxidize and this may shorten their life expectancy and may reduce their sound quality. On occasion, instruments may arrive with a broken string, therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings as soon as it arrives. Learning to change strings should be the first lesson learned when embarking on the journey of playing a new instrument.
